Thank you for coming over for a visit. Today we will be discussing all of the books that I would like to read in June. I am not great at sticking to a TBR, but I still would like to make one to give you all an idea of what I may read this month. Grab a drink, hot or cold depending on where you are right now, and I hope you enjoy your stay.

**Since the weather has been getting warmer, I have been drinking more cold drinks as of late: lemonade, iced tea, iced coffee. I carry my drink over to my shelves and the sun streams in from the open window to my left, illuminating my books. I carefully sweep my gaze over each of my unread books and pluck a few off, tossing them on my sofa so I can figure out what to read in June. I brush the hair from my face and finally pick the last book, though it won’t be the last because I have some books that should arrive in the post soon. I will have to stop into town and pick them up in a few days’ time, but for now, I will work with the books I have.**
Alright, so even though I am not great at sticking to a TBR, I can say with certainty one book that I will be reading since it is my current read. That book is Never A Hero by Vanessa Len. This is the sequel to the book Only A Monster, a young adult fantasy series following Joan as she discovers that she comes from a family of monsters on her mother’s side of the family. Unfortunately, the boy that Joan likes is a monster hunter who is determined to eradicate all monsters. I really enjoyed Only A Monster when I read it last year, so I wanted to continue on and see what else was in store for Joan. I love the time travel aspect in this book and found it to be a very unique traveling system. I read a lot of romances and contemporaries in May, so I wanted to start a fantasy to break it up a little.
Next up, we have Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which is part YA contemporary, part YA fantasy/sci-fi. This is the third book in her Lux series so I wanted to continue on. This series follows a girl named Kat who moves to West Virginia and realizes that her new neighbors are aliens. I enjoyed the first two books in this series and can’t wait to see what happens in this installment.
The next book that I have chosen to read in June is Deadly Little Scandals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I read the first book in this young adult mystery series earlier this year and wanted to continue on. The Debutantes series, starting with Little White Lies, is about a girl named Sawyer Taft who makes a deal to live with an estranged grandmother and become a debutante in exchange for a large sum of money and the chance to figure out who her father is. This is a fun series with blackmail and drama and past-present timelines, and I’m interested to see what happens with Sawyer in this second, and final, book.
My next pick is Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo. If you couldn’t tell, June is apparently going to be the month where I read a lot of sequels. It takes a long time for me to read sequels but I really want to work on reading them and finishing sequels this year. This is the second and final book in the King of Scars duology, which is a young adult fantasy series. I don’t want to say too much since this is not only a sequel, but the third series in the Grishaverse, but this follows characters from the other series and the issues that arise from that. I actually read the first book this year, so I just want to read the sequel this month to finish the series.
I’m only going to put five books on this TBR since that is usually all that I read in a month, if I’m lucky, so the last book I am going to choose for this is Sun to Me by Cleopatra Margot. This is an adult romance following Ember, who works in a coffee shop, reads, volunteers at a library, and is tasked with interior decorating an old cottage with the help of Graham Del Ray. This seems like a great book for summer or spring and I can’t wait to read it.
That concludes my June TBR. Let me know any of the books that you would like to read in the month of June.
xoxo
