**I am running home. The wind is whipping my hair around my face, my skirts flowing behind me. My basket sways back and forth in the crook of my arm. My friend was meeting me for a picnic lunch today, but I started running late trying to pick up a loaf of bread. I make it to my front door and my friend is already there. Betty has her hair in waves cascading down her back, and a picnic blanket under her arm. We pick a spot a few yards from my house and set up our food. We discuss our current reads, how our day has been, and most importantly, our July TBR.**
Welcome back to bookishcore. Today, we are going to discuss my July TBR. I know that this is coming before my June wrap-up, but I’ve been reading a decent amount this month so I wanted to wait until the month was fully over in case I finish more books. In the meantime, I figured I could discuss my July TBR.
The first book I am putting on this TBR is The Ballad of Darcy and Russell by Morgan Matson. This was one of my most anticipated releases of the year, but I put it off for a bit because I read two other books by this author already this year, so I wanted to wait before I dove into this one. This book follows a girl named Darcy who gets stranded in a bus station after a music festival. Darcy is a believer of true love, and when she meets Russell, thinks that he may be the one. I love Morgan Matson’s books, so I am excited to get into this one.

The next book is another one by a favorite author of mine. Forging Silver Into Stars by Brigid Kemmerer is one that I have put off for two years now. This is a series set in the world of A Curse So Dark and Lonely and follows new characters set about four years after the original series following a new cast of characters. I put this one off because I was nervous to go back to this world with different characters, but I am excited to read this. Plus, the sequel comes out next year, so I need to read the first one before it releases.

Next up, we have Sun To Me by Cleopatra Margot. This was one that was on my June TBR, but I didn’t get to it so I want to try to read it in July. This book follows Ember, who works in a coffee shop, reads, volunteers at a library, and she is tasked with interior decorating an old cottage with the help of Graham Del Ray. I love the cover of this and it screams summer, so I really want to get to it before summer ends.

My next pick is Funny Story by Emily Henry. I’ve read all of Emily Henry’s adult romances, so I want to get to this one. I have heard mixed things about this one, some people saying it’s her best one, and others not really enjoying it, so I’m excited to see my stance. This one is about two different couples that break up, so Daphne, our protagonist, moves in with her ex boyfriend’s, new girlfriend’s, ex. I have enjoyed reading from Emily Henry in the past, so I’m interested to see what she does with her latest release.

Finally, we have The Rosewood Hunt by Mackenzie Reed. I love mysteries and thrillers, but haven’t really been wanting to read them much this year, so I want to try and read this one to get at least one off my TBR. I believe this one is reminiscent of The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, as it follows a girl who needs to solve riddles and comes into a large inheritance. I love The Inheritance Games, so when I saw that this book seemed to be similar, I wanted to try it out.

Those are all of the books I have planned for my July TBR. We’ll see how many I can get to. I actually didn’t do too bad following my June TBR, so we will see what July brings. Thanks for reading!
