**I lean forward from my position on the sofa next to my shelves and weigh the books in my hands, taking a moment to stare at one and then the other, then back to the first. I do this repeated motion until I tire of staring at the covers. I lean back and let my eyes stare at the ceiling, trying to figure out what book to read. I am reading both already, but which one do I finish first? I brush the hair from my eyes and ponder.**

Welcome or welcome back to bookishcore! I am currently in the middle of three books. Well, one of them I put down 30 pages in, but my bookmark is still in the book and I plan to read it at some point, so I am technically reading it. I wanted to talk a bit about each book I am reading and what I think.

The first book I am in the middle of is Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This is the final book in the Lux series, a ya alien series. I started this towards the end of August and am slowly making my way through. This book is not bad in any way. I started it at the end of August and was reading it through September, but other things always get in the way and I wasn’t reading it as quickly as I wanted to. I decided to start a different book instead and have been reading Opposition in-between other books. I only have about 100 pages left so I am hoping to read it soon. I think I have been on it so long that I don’t want to read it now, but I am enjoying it and am excited to finish off this series.

One of the books I picked up to read to take breaks from Opposition was Storm by Brigid Kemmerer. This is her first published book and the first in her Elementals series. It is about a girl who meets a group of brothers with elemental powers. I only read 30 pages of this book before putting it down. I wasn’t in the mood for it at the moment, so I put the book on pause and moved on to another book. I do plan on continuing with this book at some point since Brigid Kemmerer is one of my favorite authors.

The final book I am in the middle of is my main focus right now, which is A Hunt of Shadows by Elise Kova, the second book in the A Trial of Sorcerers series. I read the first book last year around March and am finally continuing. I really liked the first book. It deals with elemental magic and trials and was a very fun read. I have about 100 pages left and hope to finish in the next few days. I wish this one had more scenes where the characters used their powers, and it feels a bit like the book was written just to show the aftermath of book one and to bridge to book three, but I am still entertained and really like Elise Kova’s writing and world.

I just wanted to give a little update and insight into what I am reading. Comment down below any books that you are in the middle of and how you are liking them.

xoxo,
