**I knot my hair on my head and pull on a cardigan. The air is chilly and the crocheted cardigan warms me. I look at my shelves and browse at each book, looking at all the series I am in the middle of. I grab my parchment, quill, and ink, and make a list of all the series I am in the middle of, and which ones I want to finish in the upcoming year.**

Now that we’re nearing the end of the year, we can into all the fun posts about books we’ve read this year and ones we want to read next year. For today’s post, I wanted to go through all the series I want to complete in 2025.

Getting Into the Series

  • Our first series is the Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. I started this series last year, reading the first two books, and continued this year and read two more. I am currently reading The Voyage of the Dawn Treader but haven’t made much progress. So next year, I’m planning on reading the last two books in the series.
  • Next up, I want to finish the A Trial of Sorcerers series by Elise Kova. I read the first book last year and recently read the second this year. This is a great ya fantasy series about elemental magic and trials. It’s actually indie-published as well. I’ve really been enjoying it and hope to read the last three books in 2025.
  • My next series is the King of Scars duology by Leigh Bardugo. I read the first book this year but haven’t gotten to second yet. I like a lot of Leigh Bardugo’s books and have been reading them for a few years now. I’m not sure how I feel about this duology so far, but I would still like to finish hopefully early next year.
  • I love Lynn Painter’s books, though oddly I haven’t read any this year so far, but I do want to read the sequel to Better Than the Movies. Better Than the Movies was my favorite book of last year, so I can’t wait to read the sequel and see what my favorite characters have been up to.

  • Another Lynn Painter duology I need to finish is the Mr. Wrong Number series. This only has two books from what I see, but I need to read the sequel still. I read the first book last year and just haven’t gotten to the sequel yet even though I liked the first one.

  • Next up is The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller. I loved the first book in this fantasy duology after reading it two years ago, but haven’t gotten to it yet. I’m a bit worried about this one since I wasn’t the biggest fan of one of her other books, but I still plan on reading it.

  • The next series I plan on finishing is the Monsters series by Vanessa Len. I really enjoyed the first two books in this series. It’s a ya fantasy series about monsters with a really unique magic system and time travel. The third and final book comes out in 2025 so I can’t wait for the release.
  • I don’t think I’ll get to this one before the end of the year, so I want to finish the Starflight series by Melissa Landers. This is a ya sci-fi duology set in space. The sequel follows a different character, but I loved the first one so much when I read it in 2020, so I think it’s time to try this one out.
  • Next we have the Rowan and Neil duology by Rachel Lynn Solomon. The first book follows two teens on their last day of high school and how they compete to win a scavenger hunt. While this wasn’t a favorite, I did like this first book and I found that it had a lot of relatable moments, and I enjoyed that setting of the last day of high school.
  • My next one is Click’d by Tamara Ireland Stone. This is a middle grade duology about a girl who develops an app to find friends. I really liked this one and actually wrote a whole review on it, so go check that out. I plan on getting to this sequel in 2025.
  • Last, but not least, we have The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. I read the first book last year and wasn’t sure how I felt. It’s a ya fantasy about fae with enemies to lovers. I may try and continue with this series next year because the first book felt like the start of the series, so I want to give the second book a try to see if I will like it more.

Those are all the series that I am currently reading that I hope to finish in 2025. There are a few I will hopefully continue with, such as Truly, Devious, The Inheritance Games, Fourth Wing, and Alex Stern, but these series are all continuing with no end date yet. The Alex Stern series doesn’t even have a release date for the next book. Either way, I hope to make progress with a lot of series in 2025. Stay tuned for some more end of year/2025 content.
