**I sip my tea and read the papers. The printing press and writers started a small section for upcoming releases. I browse the paper and look at all the releases for next year. I read the short descriptions and write on my own piece of parchment the titles and dates they release. My list gets longer and longer and by the time I finish, my fingers are stained with ink.**

2025 is quickly approaching and like a lot of other readers, I keep a list of all my anticipated releases for the year. There are a decent amount, so let’s get right into it.

Anticipated Releases

  • Our first book is Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter, releasing January 14. This was actually indie published at first but got picked up by a traditional publisher. Lynn Painter writes books for adults and teens, and this is one of her adult books. I don’t know much about it but I love Lynn Painter so I will of course be picking this up.
  • Next we have a sequel, which is Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros, which comes out on January 21. This is the third book in the Fourth Wing series, which took the book world by storm last year. It’s a dragon fantasy series with high stakes. I’m very excited about this one. The deluxe edition has really cool sprayed edges as well.
  • The last January release is Carving Shadows Into Gold by Brigid Kemmerer, releasing January 28. This is the sequel to Forging Silver Into Stars which I still have not read. This is set in the world of the Cursebreakers series which is one of my all-time favorites, so I’m excited to read this.
  • I don’t have anything for February, so getting right into March we have Gradchanted by Morgan Matson, which comes out on March 4. This is Matson’s second book with Disney following a girl at Disney stuck in a timeloop. While Promchanted was not my favorite Morgan Matson book, I do read all of her books.
  • Another March 4 release is When the Bones Sing by Ginny Myers Sain. I read her book Dark and Shallow Lies last year and absolutely loved it. That one was a thriller with fantasy type elements following a girl investigating her friend’s disappearance in her small Louisiana psychic town. I don’t know much about this new book, but it seems like another fantasy thriller.
  • Moving into April, I only have one book, which is Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry. This book comes out April 22 and follows two authors competing to write a woman’s memoir. I like Emily Henry’s books and really enjoyed Funny Story recently.
  • Next up is The Wish Switch by Lynn Painter which comes out May 13. This will be Lynn Painter’s first middle grade novel which is very exciting. It follows two kids in search of a magic wishing well. I loved the Lynn Painter books I read last year so I want to make my way through all of her books.
  • My next anticipated release is Sounds Like Love by Ashley Poston, releasing June 17. This one looks like another magical realism story that involves music. I’m not the biggest fan of the idea, but I want to try out more of Poston’s adult books.
  • Okay, next is yet another Lynn Painter novel. This one is an adult romance called Maid for Each Other which comes out July 15. Lynn Painter has a lot of books coming out next year, so I really need to work on her previous books. This one seems like a fake-dating trope between a business man and his maid.
  • Also coming out in July, we have Glorious Rivals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, coming out July 29. This is the sequel to The Grandest Game in the Inheritance Games universe. I don’t know anything about this one since I haven’t read the first one yet, but I like Barnes’s books and look forward to this one.
  • Finally, we have Once a Villain by Vanessa Len, coming out August 19. This is the third and final book in the Monsters series. It’s about a family of monsters and how one girl learns about the monster world and their unique way of time traveling, and that her crush is actually a monster slayer. This has been a very good series and I can’t wait to see how it wraps up. The cover for this third book is also very beautiful.

I will probably learn about more 2025 releases through the upcoming months, but these are all the ones on my radar for now. Let me know any of your own anticipated releases. I’m excited for this upcoming reading year. I’m also manifesting another new Natasha Preston as well. She usually has one or two a year.

xoxo,
