**I wear red and pink, hearts and bows. I walk through town and look at the shops and their decorations with declarations of love. I twist my head each way to try and see more of the hearts and garland. I make my way towards the end of the lane and turn to walk back home and take my time. It may be cold, but love is in the air and it keeps me warm.**

I love the Valentine’s Day aesthetic. I don’t really care about the holiday itself, but I love the decorations and aesthetic. A few years ago, my library did a blind date with a book and I decided to pick one up since I had never done it before. I wasn’t thrilled with my choice but I eventually read it and absolutely loved it. If you’re wondering what the books is, it was The Depths by Nicole Lesperance. Then last year I got a blind date with a book from a used bookstore, which I never ended up reading and unhauled. This year, I was able to get another blind date with a book from my library.

They had a lot of options and I had a hard time deciding on the book. There was only one YA choice, but I wasn’t really interested. I ended up going with one described as a mystery horror with the first line indicating that some sort of party is happening.

I was excited to see what my book was but had to wait patiently until I got home so I could take some pictures of it wrapped. The book I ended up getting was Good Neighbors by Sarah Langan. I have never heard of this, but it takes place in a suburban neighborhood and a family that moves in that doesn’t fit in. A sinkhole opens up in the town and one woman’s daughter falls in it and the new family gets accused.

I have no clue how I am going to feel about this book since it’s not something I would normally pick up myself, but I hope that it surprises me and I enjoy it. Sometimes those books that you don’t know anything about and the ones you don’t expect much from are the best.

I hope that you all have a great Valentine’s Day and read many wonderful books. Make sure to leave a Valentine’s related emoji in the comments!
