**I go to one of the few bookstores in my town and make sure to get there early. The sale they have attracts many people, and I want to make sure that I can find something good. When I step inside, the crowds are dense and I can barely make my way around. I search for books quickly to get in and out, but it is made hard by the amount of people. I browse and pick out a few books then move on to another bookstore. This one is quieter and less crowded. I only want to stay briefly, so I take a quick look and grab the novel I came for and pick up another as well. I check out and take the long way home.**

Over the weekend, I went to my library’s book sale and bought a few books. Like my story, it was soooo crowded. I ended up picking up four books while I was there. Then later in the day, I stopped at Barnes&Noble. I had an anticipated release last month that I wanted to pick up and bought another book while I was there so I wanted to do a haul from my weekend. Enjoy!

Starting with my library haul, the first book I picked up was Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley. To be completely honest, I mainly picked this up because it was a young adult novel and I wanted to make the trip worth it considering the amount of people there. This is about a girl who leaves town and leaves a note in a book for this boy to find. She returns a few years later and both their lives aren’t going well. I really hope that we have the bookstore as a setting in the book.

The next book I picked up was The Candy Shop War by Brandon Mull. This is a middle grade book about a candy shop that gives kids magic powers. This book sounded interesting and the candy shop setting reminded me of The Candymakers by Wendy Mass, which I loved when I read it years ago.

Next, I bought Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Dicks. I read this a few years ago and loved it. I’ve seen this shelved as both adult and young adult, so I’m not really sure which genre it is. Either way, I really enjoyed this book. It’s in the perspective of an imaginary friend who has to protect his boy. This was such a cute yet sad story and when I saw it I had to pick it up to add to my collection.

The final book I picked up from my library book sale was The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. This book seems like it is about an author who is ready to tell her story and hires a biographer to tell it. It seemed like it could be an interesting book so I decided to just go for it.

Moving on to my B&N haul, the book I went there for was Carving Shadows Into Gold by Brigid Kemmerer. This released last month but instead of preordering like I normally do, I wanted to take a trip to the store since I haven’t in a while. This is the sequel to Forging Silver Into Stars following a blacksmith, a baker, and the king’s courier as a plot against the crown spreads across two kingdoms. I love Brigid Kemmerer’s books and can’t wait to get to this one.

Finally, to end out this haul, we have Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter. I was originally going to get The Love Wager, then considered getting a Sarah Adams book, but settled on this one. I love Lynn Painter and want to collect and read the rest of her books. This book is about a woman named Isabella who takes a drink made for Amy, which leads to a lot of confusion after meeting her soon to be boss at the coffee shop who thinks her name is Amy. I expect this book to be a fun read and lots of confusion as to who Isabella is.

I love a good book haul and had a lot of fun shopping for these books. Now that I have them . . . I am definitely not allowed to buy more books for a while. My TBR can’t handle that right not. I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you on Friday.

xoxo,
