**My reading has slowed quite a bit, so why not challenge myself a bit? This is a great time to sit and read my book and try to finish. I take my book off the table and flip to where I left off last and start reading. My brain conjures up images of the story and I sit back and read.**
When trying to think of some blog post ideas, I had the idea to make this one. Since I watch people’s weekly reading vlogs, why not try it as a blog post? This way, I could encourage myself to read and then see how well this idea translates to a blog post from a traditional video format. So each day I updated what I read and some of my thoughts.
Tuesday – I didn’t do any reading yesterday, so I am trying to sit and do some reading now. I started on page 84 and made it to page 118 of A Tournament of Crowns by Elise Kova. I am enjoying the book so far but Eira is kind of annoying me. I feel like she doesn’t know what she wants in terms of the love interest. Plus, she is mad at him for something that she kind of does to her two friends. I’m trying to not give spoilers, so forgive the vagueness.
Wednesday – I did some reading earlier and made it from page 118 to 131, then just sat and read again until page 165. When I first started this series, I thought that we would be going through the trials to find the competitors and we would get to see the tournament. I feel like the tournament so far, while it is present, has been kind of pushed to the side in favor of Eira’s personal missions. I feel like she isn’t even really investigating anything at this point, with most of the story being about Eira’s feelings towards the love interest and a lot of thinking about the different organizations that are in the story.

Thursday – I’ve been mostly updating this once I’m done reading for the day, so I wanted to try and actually update in between. It’s 4:12 right now and I did do some reading maybe two hours ago and read about 30 pages. A lot of my thoughts are still the same from the past few days. I wish we could see more of the tournament since that felt like it was supposed to be a big plot point, especially in the beginning. I’ll try to update again later since I want to at least make it past page 200, which is only a few pages away.
Friday – I did end up reading more last night but never ended up updating. It is currently 4:37 and I read for a while earlier and am now up to page 290 out of the 371 pages that are in the book. I am definitely more engaged in the story right now. I just read about the fourth challenge and it was really fun to read about, especially as we watch how Eira uses her magic to complete it. A lot of my earlier thoughts are still the same. I took a break from reading for a little while, but I hope to get back to it again later before I post this. I really want to finish this book by the end of the weekend.

Update: I just finished the book! It’s 8:44 pm right now and I just finished. The book picked up even more. I do think Eira was still a bit annoying, especially in the scene where she speaks with Vi. I do think that the action picked up as well and the stakes. The last competition was also really cool. I usually don’t like trials in books, but I actually really love them in this series. They are always cool challenges and pretty unique. The ending sets up very well for the next book in the series and I am excited to see how it continues.
Doing this challenge has definitely encouraged me to read more. My reading really depends on how busy I am, the book, and if I’m in a reading mood, but doing this challenge was a great push to read after reading this book pretty slowly. So now for the review of this challenge. While it did encourage me to read, I don’t think that this challenge translates well to a blog posts. It works much better as a video, but I still had a good time working on it. I hope you all enjoyed and have a great weekend.
xoxo,
