**The crisp autumn air has gotten chillier in the past week, so I pull my cardigan, a shade of burnt orange reminiscent of fall, tighter around myself to keep away the biting chill. I scurry from the candle maker, where I bought a new scent that smells of pumpkin pie, into the bakery which warms me up. The sweet aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air and I take my time looking at the selection. I decide to purchase a baguette and a loaf then brace myself for the cold once again, leaving the warmth of the bakery behind me as I make my way back home.**

First off, Happy Halloween! Though we may be talking about my November TBR, Halloween is today so I couldn’t leave that out. We will have my October wrap-up on Monday as well, so stay tuned for that.

Now getting to the actual post, I had a great time mood reading in October since I didn’t feel bad about not sticking to it. However, I do enjoy making these TBRs so I want to think a bit about what I want to read next month.

  1. Falling Like Leaves by Misty Wilson
    • This is actually my current read. I’m not far into it, only on chapter 2, but I plan to continue it in November. This is a ya book about a girl going to a small town after her parents separate where she runs into an old friend from her past. This seems like a really cute book. I was looking for a book for fall and it seemed like a great option and I’m excited to see what I think. It’s also blurbed by Lynn Painter so I have high hopes!
  2. Shady Hollow by Juneau Black
    • I think this is a cozy fantasy mystery type story following a group of animals. A fox reporter has just come to Shady Hollow and is investigating the case of a possible murder. This is something I normally wouldn’t read but it is the pick for my book club so I will be reading it in the coming month. I don’t really have any expectations going into this, but it is definitely an interesting choice that’s out of my comfort zone.
  3. Where the Dark Stands Still by A.B. Poranek
    • For some reason, this book seems like a great choice for November or possibly even December. I believe this one is based on some type of folklore with bargains and magic. I don’t really know much about this one but want to keep it that way. I love the cover for this one as well. I think it has potential to be a good book, so we will see.
  4. A Far Wilder Magic by Allison Saft
    • This is another that seems like a November book. It deals with alchemy and follows two characters that work together to kill a mythical creature to earn magical secrets. This one and the last one I didn’t really know much about but I like having books like that. This is another that has a lot of potential, though I think I would like this one a bit more. I’m excited to see what I think, so I really need to read it in November, and if not, December.
  5. A Queen of Ice by Elise Kova
    • This is the fifth and final book in the A Trial of Sorcerers series which is a ya series about elemental magic and trials. I’ve mentioned this series quite a few times on my blog now, but I am so close to finishing! I have enjoyed this series so far and am interested to see what else we learn and how it all wraps up.

I didn’t read a lot in October, so I’m hoping November is a better reading month for me. I guess we’ll see how many of these I get to in the next few weeks.

xoxo,

Just another reader 🍂
