**Someone knocks at the thick, mahogany door three times. I shuffle over to it and find a parcel at my feet. I take it inside and take shears to the nicely wrapped parcel, cutting the twine in two before unraveling the wrapping. Inside I find a new holiday novel. I read the back of the book and take it to my shelves to live until we get closer to the holiday season.**

We have made it to our last TBR of the year! It is so crazy that we have made it to the last one of 2026 (okay, well we’ll have one at the end of December for January, but that’s for next year, so we’re not counting it). I think for December I want to read a lot of Christmas books just to get in the Christmas mood. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

  • The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter

Starting with the first of the Christmas books, we have The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year. I used to love Ally Carter years ago but never read any of her adult books. This is a mystery story following two authors who have to solve a crime. It seems like it could be a great story with a fun, Christmas mystery and romance.

  • All’s Fair in Love and Christmas by Sarah Monzon

This is a Christmas romance following two people competing for a promotion at their job. I think I found this book last year but never picked it up, so I really want to get to it this year. I’m picturing a fun workplace competition and romance set during the holidays. I think this one will be really cute and I hope to give it a read this holiday season.

  • The Mistletoe Motive by Chloe Liese

My final Christmas option is The Mistletoe Motive. This was another one I found last year and considered reading but didn’t actually get to. I heard some good things about it and all I know is that it’s set in a bookstore which is all I need to know. This is a pretty short one as well which makes it a great addition to the TBR as a quick read.

  • A Queen of Ice by Elise Kova

Now moving into the books on my physical TBR, we have A Queen of Ice. This has been on several TBRs but I really need to get to it in December. This is the fifth and final book in the A Trial of Sorcerers series which is about trials and elemental magic. I have been meaning to get to this one for a while now but haven’t yet, so I’m really hoping I can finish the year out with it.

  • Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros

Another one that has been on many a TBR, I made sure to get this book as soon as it came out, but have I read it? Nope. This is the third book in the Empyrean series which is about dragons and a war college. I have been really excited about this one but haven’t had the urge to pick it up. I’m hoping December will be the month I finally do to cross it off my TBR and have it done before the new year.

I haven’t been reading as much but I really want to get to all of these before the end of the year. I am very excited for my December reading and hope to start soon, as soon as I finish my current read.

xoxo,
