**The bell tolls in the towne and the birds chirp along with it. The breeze pushes the trees back and forth and knock a few branches loose. Meanwhile, I sit in the comfort of my home, curled up with a good book, warming myself in a cocoon of blankets.**

We’re back! It has been a crazy (and very busy!) few weeks, but I wanted to take the time to actually post something today. I had the absolute hardest time coming up with an idea until I finally thought of this and thought it could be fun. Fantasy novels are always so adventurous and the characters have such interesting careers. But what if those characters were living in the real world and had to get a real job? This is what we are about to find out. Here is my list of possible career choices for fantasy characters if they made it to the real world. Enjoy!

  • Violet from Fourth Wing

Starting with Violet, I think she would be a personal trainer. With her own medical conditions that she doesn’t let stop her, I think she would want to help other people strengthen their bodies just like she does in the book. I think she would push people just enough and find the best ways for people to train.

  • Harper from A Curse So Dark and Lonely

Harper is a character that truly cares about people and has a big heart. Because of this, I think she would work in an animal shelter. She would make sure that people find a new friend and I think she would love taking care of the animals. In the book, Harper discusses her love of riding horses, so I think she would do well around animals and love doing volunteer work.

  • Rhen from A Curse So Dark and Lonely

Not going to lie, Rhen would be a therapist. He has been through so much that I think that, even though it would be hard to hear about what other people have gone through after going through so much himself, he would make a great therapist since he could connect with his patients and help them make it through hard times. And maybe learn a little something along the way.

  • Tessa from Defy the Night

Just like Harper, Tessa is a character that cares. She steals the cure from the rich for the fever so she can distribute it to the poor who truly need it, which makes me think she would make a great nurse! I think Tessa would not only do her job well, but sit with her patients and really bond with them. She has that soft side and the need to help people, so I think being a nurse would be a great fit.

  • Corrick from Defy the Night

This one was definitely difficult. I think I could picture Corrick in some type of trade though. I think he would enjoy working with his hands and be able to create something instead of cause harm. Either that or he would give up everything and own a ranch or a farm and work on that. After living a life he didn’t want to live, it’s time for some peace and quiet.

  • Alessandra from The Shadows Between Us

I think Alessandra would be a fashion designer! I think in the book she actually sews and designs a lot of her dresses from what I remember. I definitely can picture a scene from the book with her discussing her fashion choices and the design of her dress, so I think she would really love the fashion world and creating unique clothes for people.

  • Kaz from Six of Crows

Kaz . . . would be a locksmith. The thief that can break into just about anything would have to be the locksmith. He would be so good at his job! Granted, no one has to know where he learned those skills, but he would make a successful living as a locksmith somewhere.

  • Inej from Six of Crows

I could totally see Inej as some type of agent, like a CIA operative. Inej is mysterious and can make her way around undetected. This would be a great skill for someone who wants to be a spy or secret agent. The CIA would be lucky to have Inej.

This was such a fun post to do! I actually really enjoyed thinking about what jobs each of these fantasy characters would have. If you have any other ideas, for these characters or different ones, please let me know! I’d love to hear.
