**I take a peek at my shelves with their fall decor, knowing I have to change out the decor for the holidays soon. Until then, I will choose the books I want to read next month. I glance at the stack of books I wanted to read this month and see a few unread that I would still love to get to. I pluck a few more off the shelves and add to the stack.**
It’s a bit early to do my December TBR, but with Thanksgiving coming up I am going to take Friday off from posting to enjoy the holidays. There is still some time before the end of the month so I may read maybe one of these books before December, but they will still go on my TBR. There may be a few repeats as well because there are some I really want to get to by the end of the year.
The Books
- I’m going to start with the ones that are repeats, starting with Forging Silver Into Stars by Brigid Kemmerer. The sequel comes out in January, so I really want to get to it before then. This takes place in the world of the Cursebreakers series, and I am very excited to get to it.
- Next is The Grandest Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I recently got my copy of Games Untold in the mail, so I want to read The Grandest Game so I can get to the novella collection. This is set in the world of The Inheritance Games following a contest.
- My final repeat is The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis. This is the fifth book in the Narnia series going by the recommended order. I am going to make it a goal to read this by the end of the year and finish the series in 2025.
- Getting into the other books, we have Betting On You by Lynn Painter. I read three of her books last year and haven’t read any others since so I am excited to get to this one. This is a ya romance about two teens working at a waterpark and has the fake-dating trope.
- Next is Starfall by Melissa Landers. This is the companion novel to Starflight which I read in 2020 and loved. It’s a ya sci-fi set in space that I never expected to enjoy. It’s way too underrated. I loved the first book and can’t wait to see how this second one is.
- My final choice for my TBR is These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. This is a ya fantasy set in the 1920s Shanghai following rival gangs in a Romeo and Juliet type story. I never had any interest in this book, but something made me want to read it last year so I got it but haven’t gotten to it yet. I’m intrigued to see how I will like this one.
That wraps up my December TBR. I’m excited to see how this last month of reading goes and am looking forward to all of the fun end of year posts for either December or January. I am taking Friday off, so I will see everyone next Monday. Happy Thanksgiving π¦
