**I brew my ginger tea and mix it well, adding just a drizzle of honey. I inhale the sweet, spiced aroma and take a small sip. Ginger is said to ease an upset stomach, something I need today. I take my teacup to the sitting room and curl up with a blanket. I gently set my cup down with a clink on the saucer and let my head rest on the pillow beside me. I tuck myself deeper into my blankets and close my eyes.**

Hello everyone. I’m excited to get back to the end of the year content, but after getting sick Friday I didn’t want to have to write out a post, so now we’re back! A lot of people online seem to do “25 Books to Read in 2025,” so I thought it would be fun to look at my physical TBR and the books I want to read that I don’t have. I haven’t read a lot this year, so I’m sticking with only 15 books. While I know for sure that I will read at least 15 books, this is still ambitious for me because I can have a hard time sticking to a TBR. So we will see what I get to next year. To keep this from being way too long, I will just say the books and why I put them on the list.

  1. The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys
    • I’ve had this on my shelf for quite a while now and really need to get to it. I don’t read much historical fiction, but I do like Ruta Sepetys.
  2. Betting On You by Lynn Painter
    • I’m probably not getting to this by the end of the month, so I definitely need to read it next year. I love Lynn Painter’s books and need to read another one.
  3. Nine Liars by Maureen Johnson
    • I read the rest of the Truly, Devious series and really liked it, but haven’t read this one yet. I read book four in January 2022 and really need to get to this one.
  4. Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo
    • I’m not sure about my feelings on King of Scars, but this is only a duology so I really need to finish it. I should be caught up with the Grishaverse after this minus some of the extras like The Language of Thorns and The Lives of Saints.
  5. The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis
    • I’ve been making my way through Narnia and really like it, so I need to read this one and the last one next year.
  6. The Grandest Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
    • I may not get to this one either this year, so I definitely need to read it in 2025. I love this series and Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ books overall.
  7. The Diviners by Libba Bray
    • I have wanted to read this book for literal years, but I never got around to it since I don’t own it. I have been meaning to get it from the library, but I always have books on my shelf I want to get to first. 2025 will be the year.
  8. The Wizard of OZ by L. Frank Baum
    • This is one of my favorite movies, so I really want to see what the book is like.
  9. The Match by Sarah Adams
    • This is another that I have wanted to read for years. I have wanted to read it since it was indie published, before they even announced it was getting traditionally published. I really need to get to this one.
  10. Bridge to Terebithia by Katherine Paterson
    • Somebody has been telling me to read this for a few months now, so I really need to get to it next year.
  11. Nothing Like the Movies by Lynn Painter
    • Another Lynn Painter, but I really want to read this since it’s a sequel to one of my favorite ya contemporaries. I loved Better Than the Movies so I can’t wait for this one.
  12. The Party by Natasha Preston
    • I am always excited to read from Natasha Preston. This is her latest release, so I would love to get to it in 2025. I don’t think she’s announced anything for next year yet, so this will hold me over until then.
  13. Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
    • Fourth Wing has been one of my favorite reads in 2024 so I am highly anticipating the next book coming out in 2025. I can’t wait to read it.
  14. Gradchanted by Morgan Matson
    • Another 2025 release, Gradchanted will be Morgan Matson’s next release. I love her books and can’t wait to read another new book by her.
  15. A Tournament of Crowns by Elise Kova
    • Last, but not least, we have A Tournament of Crowns by Elise Kova. I have read the first two books in the A Trial of Sorcerers series and have been enjoying it, so I really need to continue with this series in 2025.

There are so many more books that I want to get to but 15 is a good start. I am going to check back in with this mid next year and at the end of next year to see how many I have read. I’m wishing everyone a wonderful new reading year.

xoxo,

Just another reader

I’m feeling much better, thank you! I’m very excited to (hopefully) get to all these next year. Do you have any books that you hope to get to next year?

I have quite a few “backlist treasures” I want/need to get to – I’m thinking I might have to go through and make a list/post of sorts, if for no other reason than to SEE them easier for myself 🙂 Onyx Storm is def on the list of upcoming releases on my radar – which means I need to read Iron Flame (I loved Fourth Wing, have been putting off Iron Flame). And does rereading Throne of Glass count? lol …

I’ve never read Throne of Glass before. I have heard so many amazing things though.

Throne of Glass was my first foray into Maas and I loooooved it. Having reread ACOTAR a couple times, I feel a need to revisit TOG.
