**I brew my ginger tea and mix it well, adding just a drizzle of honey. I inhale the sweet, spiced aroma and take a small sip. Ginger is said to ease an upset stomach, something I need today. I take my teacup to the sitting room and curl up with a blanket. I gently set my cup down with a clink on the saucer and let my head rest on the pillow beside me. I tuck myself deeper into my blankets and close my eyes.**
Hello everyone. I’m excited to get back to the end of the year content, but after getting sick Friday I didn’t want to have to write out a post, so now we’re back! A lot of people online seem to do “25 Books to Read in 2025,” so I thought it would be fun to look at my physical TBR and the books I want to read that I don’t have. I haven’t read a lot this year, so I’m sticking with only 15 books. While I know for sure that I will read at least 15 books, this is still ambitious for me because I can have a hard time sticking to a TBR. So we will see what I get to next year. To keep this from being way too long, I will just say the books and why I put them on the list.

- The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys
- I’ve had this on my shelf for quite a while now and really need to get to it. I don’t read much historical fiction, but I do like Ruta Sepetys.
- Betting On You by Lynn Painter
- I’m probably not getting to this by the end of the month, so I definitely need to read it next year. I love Lynn Painter’s books and need to read another one.
- Nine Liars by Maureen Johnson
- I read the rest of the Truly, Devious series and really liked it, but haven’t read this one yet. I read book four in January 2022 and really need to get to this one.
- Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo
- I’m not sure about my feelings on King of Scars, but this is only a duology so I really need to finish it. I should be caught up with the Grishaverse after this minus some of the extras like The Language of Thorns and The Lives of Saints.
- The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis
- I’ve been making my way through Narnia and really like it, so I need to read this one and the last one next year.
- The Grandest Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
- I may not get to this one either this year, so I definitely need to read it in 2025. I love this series and Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ books overall.
- The Diviners by Libba Bray
- I have wanted to read this book for literal years, but I never got around to it since I don’t own it. I have been meaning to get it from the library, but I always have books on my shelf I want to get to first. 2025 will be the year.
- The Wizard of OZ by L. Frank Baum
- This is one of my favorite movies, so I really want to see what the book is like.
- The Match by Sarah Adams
- This is another that I have wanted to read for years. I have wanted to read it since it was indie published, before they even announced it was getting traditionally published. I really need to get to this one.
- Bridge to Terebithia by Katherine Paterson
- Somebody has been telling me to read this for a few months now, so I really need to get to it next year.
- Nothing Like the Movies by Lynn Painter
- Another Lynn Painter, but I really want to read this since it’s a sequel to one of my favorite ya contemporaries. I loved Better Than the Movies so I can’t wait for this one.
- The Party by Natasha Preston
- I am always excited to read from Natasha Preston. This is her latest release, so I would love to get to it in 2025. I don’t think she’s announced anything for next year yet, so this will hold me over until then.
- Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
- Fourth Wing has been one of my favorite reads in 2024 so I am highly anticipating the next book coming out in 2025. I can’t wait to read it.
- Gradchanted by Morgan Matson
- Another 2025 release, Gradchanted will be Morgan Matson’s next release. I love her books and can’t wait to read another new book by her.
- A Tournament of Crowns by Elise Kova
- Last, but not least, we have A Tournament of Crowns by Elise Kova. I have read the first two books in the A Trial of Sorcerers series and have been enjoying it, so I really need to continue with this series in 2025.
There are so many more books that I want to get to but 15 is a good start. I am going to check back in with this mid next year and at the end of next year to see how many I have read. I’m wishing everyone a wonderful new reading year.
xoxo,
Just another reader
