**About a half hour away, in a towne outside my own, sits a small bookstore with ivy crawling up the side and a cracked sidewalk leading up to it. I take the trek to the door, a sturdy wooden thing, and take a few steps in, my shoes clacking on the floor and the scent of vanilla and worn pages wafting towards me. Steam from a freshly brewed cup of tea sits on the counter and an old woman with greying hair looks up from her book and smiles, inviting me in to her home away from home. I take my time and browse the shelves, reading the descriptions for the books and flipping through them. I finally settle on a few and make my purchase. On my way out the door, I decide to take the long way home.**
I just went to my local used bookstore yesterday and wanted to share all the books I picked up. I love shopping at this bookstore and they always have something I want to get. The condition of the books are also great and I love that I can sell my books to them for store credit. Let’s get right into the haul.
The first book I picked up was Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen. I have wanted to read this book for quite a few years now and never picked it up. This bookstore has actually had copies of the book previously and I never bought it, but I figured that now was finally the time. It follows a girl named Auden who stays the summer with her dad since her parents are now divorced. One day, she meets a boy who is has insomnia like her, so they spend the nights exploring the town she’s staying in. This seems like one of those older YA books reminiscent of Kasie West’s older books. I’m actually pretty excited to see what I think of this one.

Next, we have Regular Show Volume One by KC Green. This is a comic I randomly found when browsing the shelves. I love Regular Show so when I saw this I knew I had to get it. I don’t know what happens in this one and I think I want to go in blind, but I imagine it’s more of what we see in the show.

Finally, we have Kristy’s Great Idea by Ann M. Martin, the first book in the Baby-Sitters Club series. I decided I wanted to read this more recently, so when I saw that the store had the first book in this series, I knew I had to get it. I’ve never read any of these books before and I’m excited to see what I think.

I didn’t end up buying a lot of books, but my TBR doesn’t need much more anyway. While I was book shopping, I did end up buying a cute pin as well! It’s a ghost holding a book over his head. Anyway, I have been able to find a lot of great books through used bookstores or library book sales, so I highly recommend giving them a chance. What is the best book you have found used?
