**It’s a blisteringly hot summer day, where the sun beats down and coats everything in a sheen of condensation and the ground burns with every shoeless step. I hide away from the heat and flip the pages of my romance novel, set in a small coastal town between a fisherman and the daughter of the local seafood shack. I can almost hear the waves crashing against the shore and the squawking of the seagulls, smell the salt from the ocean and taste it on my lips. I flip the pages and enjoy each moment in that coastal town while escaping from the heat wave here.**

I have been speeding through books this summer and have a few more books I need to read for my summer bingo challenge. So my August TBR is going to be all the books I have left for my bingo board. I am actually in the middle of two of these and hope to finish in the next day or two, but I’m still going to add them in here because I do plan on finishing them in August. So here are all the books I plan to read in August.

• The Infinity Between Us by N.S. Perkins

This is actually a self-published book that gained a bit of hype a few years ago. It seemed really good and so I finally bought it pretty recently and just started it the other day. I am currently halfway through and hope to finish it soon. It follows Violet who goes back to the beach house she hasn’t been to in five years, only to run into Will, her best friend who she had a falling out with five summers ago. We don’t know what happened and read as their two families spend the summer at the house in the past and the present of Violet and Will making a deal regarding the house and dealing with old feelings.

• Beyond the Wand by Tom Felton

I needed a memoir for my board and had heard some good things about this one. Not much to say about it other than it follows Tom Felton’s career. I’m pretty close to being done and want to finish tomorrow.

• Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon

I actually don’t know too much about this one. I think it follows a meteorologist, but other than that I’m not too sure since I needed it to fulfill a prompt. But I had read one of her previous books Today Tonight Tomorrow and liked parts of it so I figured I’d give this one a try. I’m kind of intrigued by it and interested to see what my thoughts will be.

• Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Alright, so I am not one of those people who read Reid’s most popular books Daisy Jones and the Six and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. None of her books, specifically her ones about celebrities, really interested me, in part due to the interview-type writing style in some of her books. I did read her book Forever, Interrupted a few years ago and thought it was okay, but when I saw Atmosphere I knew I wanted to read it. The cover was so eye catching and I had to pick it up. The story of an astronaut especially appeals to me now after watching Project Hail Mary recently. So this is the book I am probably most excited for this month.

• The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys

Soooo . . . I’ve had this on my TBR since December 2022. But my reading challenge is the perfect opportunity to read it since it fulfills a prompt so this is finally the time to read it. After all of those months and TBRs, I will finally be reading this book. I don’t read a lot of historical fiction and it’s over 400 pages so it has been very daunting, but I am finally going to do it. I think this takes place during the Spanish Civil War but I’m not 100%. I have liked her other books though so I hope I like this one too.

I do have two other books I need but I’m not sure what I want to read yet so I’ll probably just focus on these titles first and then decide later in the month. I’m looking forward to finally getting some of these titles off my TBR. As much as I am enjoying this challenge, I am also looking forward to finishing it up and fully choosing my own reads again. Until then, I will read these and do a full wrap up at the end of the month as always.
