**The air is warm, but fall is close as seen in the falling leaves and autumn window displays. I picture myself in those cooler months, pulling a sweater on before taking a walk in the crisp air, drinking a warm drink, and reading a book. I pull myself from my daydream long enough to feel the warmth pulling tight around me and wish for the air to cool.**
September and October are two months I am very excited for in terms of setting up my TBR. I feel like there are so many good books I can use for these months and I look forward to picking up those atmospheric reads. It was a bit hard to cut down the list, but I finally landed on six books that I’d like to read in September.
- Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo
Starting with Rule of Wolves. I actually started this in July then decided to put it on pause so I could read books I could get through faster for bingo, so I’d like to continue this in September. I have had this one for a while now and really need to continue with the Grishaverse. I believe this is the last main book I have left, so I’m excited to see where it goes.
- Glorious Rivals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
It kind of makes me sad how close I am to finishing the books in this universe, but I do really want to get to Glorious Rivals soon. I love The Inheritance Games and am so intrigued to see where things go from here. This is the second book in the Grandest Game series which continues off from The Inheritance Games, so I’m very excited to see how the story goes and what else will be revealed.
- Maid For Each Other by Lynn Painter
I was very letdown by my last adult romance by Lynn Painter (Happily Never After) but I am so excited to get to this one. I think it’s a romance between a maid and the guy she cleans for. This is one I am actually really excited for. I love Lynn Painter and I have a feeling I’m really going to like it.
- Drawn Together by Juliana Smith
This is actually a self-published one I found that I have been so excited to read. It’s a romance between a picture book author and illustrator. It seems so cute and the cover seems like it’s very fall-esque (even though I originally thought it was summer) so I really hope to get to this. This will definitely be the one I get to even if I don’t read any of the other books on this TBR.
- Spark by Brigid Kemmerer
Next we have Spark. I read Storm last year I think and it was meh, but I still plan on continuing with the series because I love Brigid Kemmerer and will read just about all of her books. I have been meaning to get to this for a few months so I think now may be the time.
- Caller Number Nine by Carrie Jacobs
I think this is actually another independently published book, but I think it’s a romance that centers around camping. I didn’t want to know too much but I just think this will be a great September pick.
I am very excited to get in some good end of summer/beginning of fall reading. I’m usually not the best at sticking to a TBR, so I hope to at least get to a few of these because they are so perfect for September. Anybody else like to theme their reading for the holiday/season, or just me?
xoxo,
